Karla Briones is a business strategist and serial entrepreneur dedicated to supporting immigrant, BIPOC, and underrepresented founders in building scalable ventures in Canada. She is the founder of Immigrant Entrepreneur Canada (IEC), a national organization that empowers immigrant entrepreneurs through culturally aware, community-driven programming focused on education, advocacy, and opportunities to acquire, start, and grow businesses. A Nation’s Capital Immigrant Entrepreneur of the Year, Top 25 Canadian Immigrant in Entrepreneurship, and TEDx speaker, Karla also advises for Invest Ottawa, supports Indigenous founders through ADAAWE’s business hub, teaches entrepreneurship at Algonquin College, and writes on small business issues for the Ottawa Citizen. She has served on the board of the Ottawa Board of Trade and continues to mentor emerging entrepreneurs through Futurpreneur Canada and other local groups.
