Student-consultants will develop a user acquisition strategy for a newly launched mobile application and devise a plan to drive more downloads and retain users over time.

Phase 1 – Project Plan: Students will meet with organization representative(s) to devise the project scope and prepare a detailed plan for completion of the project.

Phase 2 – Project Execution: Students will work on deliverables outlined in the project plan. Teams will periodically communicate with organization representative(s) as needed to complete project tasks.

Phase 3 - Outcome - Report: Students will submit a User Acquisition Strategy report. This document outlines the campaign and digital strategy for the mobile application, including the following:

  • Company Background
  • Analytics
  • Search Engine Optimization
  • Target Persona & Campaign
  • User Acquisition Strategy
  • Paid advertising
  • User Retention Strategy
  • Monetization Strategy (Optional based on client)
  • Projections

Project examples

Starting this May, groups of 3 student-consultants will spend over 360 hours developing a comprehensive marketing plan for your organization's mobile app.

Students will complete audits on your app's current website or landing page analytics, SEO, ASO and social media presence. Then they will create a user acquisition strategy to drive app downloads and increase user engagement.

Marketing strategies may include but are not limited to:

  • Google Analytics Optimization.
  • SEO.
  • ASO.
  • Content.
  • Email.
  • Social Media.
  • Social Advertising.
  • Google AdWords.
  • Blogging.
  • Push Notifications.
  • Monetization Strategies.
